From the very beginning, Christians have worshiped God through songs and prayers. The Apostle Paul encouraged believers to let the “word of Christ” dwell richly among them by teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with gratitude in their hearts to God.
In Scripture we find many examples of songs and psalms. King David himself often sang and played to the Lord, and he established a “music ministry.” He appointed the Levites to set apart a group of singers who were to lift their voices with joy to the Lord, accompanied by harps, lyres, and cymbals.
During our worship services, we come together to give glory and honor to God through songs and our personal prayers. In this time of worship there is space for cleansing, confession of sin, and pouring out our hearts before the Lord. We are led by those who have dedicated their musical gifts to serving God and His people.
