We are a part of the Baptist Church in the Republic of Poland which bases its teachings and activities on the truths of the Holy Bible. The Opole Baptist church was originally founded in 2005 as a church plant of the Second Baptist Church in Wroclaw and remained dependent on our mother church until 2015. On October 4th 2015, we became a fully independent church known as the „Source of Life” Christian Church in Opole.<\/p>\n

Because man\u2019s greatest need is to be reconciled to God the Father through the forgiveness of sin, our church desires to reach the residents of Opole and surrounding areas with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We strive to make disciples of Jesus who follow Him in their daily lives and grow spiritually in their new walk of faith. This walk of faith is only possible through true repentance and acknowledging our sinful separation from God (Acts 3:19, 10:43). Repentance is a change of direction in one\u2019s life, turning back to God and away from our sinful lifestyle as God\u2019s Word reveals the truth about ourselves and our sinfulness, about who Jesus Christ is, what He has done, and what He will do. Thus, repentance is a response to the good news of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This response is an awareness of and hatred for sin and a trust in the saving work of Christ on the cross where He redeemed people from every tribe, tongue, people and nation (John 5:9). Jesus gave His life for His Church (Ephesians 5:25), taking the punishment for our sins (1 John 2:2). Praise God that for those who are in Christ, there is no more condemnation (Romans 8:1).<\/p>\n

We believe it is God’s will for every Christian to be part of a local church body, whose members build one another up (Ephesians 2:22, 4:15-16). God intended for the local church to share the truth of His Word with the world; God’s Word calls the church the pillar and foundation of truth (1 Timothy 3:15). It is our desire that ours and other Christian churches in our city boldly uphold this truth with their teaching and conduct.<\/p>\n

The church is made up of members who profess faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, demonstrate true spiritual growth in their lives, have been baptized by immersion and accept our Confession of Faith. Every member of the church has the right to vote in church business meetings, which makes the most important decisions concerning church as a whole (e.g. admitting and excluding members, electing and dismissing leaders).<\/p>\n

The church is led by the church council elected from among the church body. The main responsibility of the church council is to ensure sound biblical teaching and to direct the activities of the church. The council also includes the pastor, who has special responsibility for pastoral care and teaching of the Word.<\/p>\n

Sunday Services are held every Sunday at 10:30am at 20 Sienkiewicza St. (entrance through the archway). In addition to our weekly services in Polish, Opole church offers a Bible study in English every other Wednesday at 18:00.
